I wish Garmin has something like the Nextar system. This is very handy. I own 2 Garmin GPS units and am happy with them. In my Nextar GPS, I can tap on the turn list and then tap to avoid a certain road on the turn list. But then this will disable other toll road in addition to 407 ETR. As a result, the GPS tells me to travel 100 more miles to my destination. But I hope Garmin would consider adding a feature to its software. But Garmin software does not allow avoiding individual roads.
I wonder why Garmin did not think of this. I just need to avoid 407 ETR. This product is a good one. I was trying to avoid driving on Highway 407 ETR in Toronto. In my case, if I want to avoid 407 ETR, I have to disable "toll road" through setting.
Spousal disputes evaporate and you can focus on why you're travelling, not looking at maps. Seriously, consider this item if you plan to go abroad anywhere. Can't beat it for the money. This is an excellent product for the price. We researched what was available that included maps of Europe as well as the U.S., and had we not have had this device with us on our recent trip to Italy, would still be wandering lost somewhere in Tuscany (actually, not a bad thing.). And it works well in the States, too.
Also wanted to use it in London but it has trouble finding satelites when you are traveling along streets with very tall buildings. I used this GPS in France traveling into the rural areas and had some problems locating small villages and roads. Still a good GPS
Garmin Nuvi 270 was an excellent guide around Ireland allowing everyone to enjoy their vacation.
It worked fine in less than a minute and user interface was very intuitive. That was it. I will use it in US in July and see if it works fine. I recently traveled to Souther France for a week. We rented a car in Nice airport and mounted Nuvi 270. Never lost a one way or round about.
